Gilroy Rock n' Ribs

Compentition BBQ Cook-Off

June 20-21, 2008

This is the second annual event (3rd if you include the Great Gilroy Gobbler Gathering), taking place in downtown Gilroy. This is a full blown competition but there is a twist: Contestants will be cooking only ribs, chicken, and a mystery meat to be announced (and I think) provided by the event coordinators.

You may cook on any equipment you like, including gas burners, pellet poopers, stick burners, or even blow torches - all are welcome, but microwave users will be scorned, moked, and ridiculed. Please see the rules section for complete rule disclosure.

This even is known for great music, lots of fun, and a welcome break from the KCBS style events. Plus the chicks are hot too.

Entry fee: $100
Venders Fee: $75 Only 6 spots available and going fast!

TURN-IN TIMES:
CHICKEN - 1:00 pm
MYSTERY MEAT - 1:30 pm
RIBS - 2:00 pm

Prize money

	First place:	$250
	Second place:	$150
	Third place:	$100

• Will there be electricity? Yes

• Can we buy ice on site? In the process of getting this info.

• Are there any hotels close to the event? Ric is trying to get a deal with one or two and will post that info next week.

• Can we bring RV's? Yes, but parking will not be at your cook site due to space limitations. You can park in a parking lot about 200 feet away.

• Where will we be setting up? Right on the street in downtown Gilroy. Usual 15x20 setup unless you need more.

• Arrival time? Anytime from 3:00 on Friday
